You are not being exploited, life feeling difficult is due only to your personal inadequacy which you must internalize to the point that you feel a kind of maturity euphoria anytime that you do manage to cope for a bit.
I do my best to remind the kids I work with that it does suck for them and it is in some ways harder than it was for me when I was their age. It goes a long way for them to hear that sometimes.
