Bespoke: Web3 self-sabotages because the internet and platforms have been conformed to strict walled gardens, corporate network effects, and fundamentally, infrastructure acting as private property.
I love decentralized tech! P2P has so many neat possibilities and protocols. If you wanna get technical, most of the stuff I enjoy is distributed rather than decentralized because the assets need to pool into the hands of a small number of actors to work. Things like consistent hashing, distributed consensus via Paxos, eventual consistency, federation protocols, etc. But then again, by those standards, cryptocurrency isn’t decentralized, either 🤷
