Japan court rules against same-sex marriage ban in major win for LGBTQ+ equality

A Japan court has ruled that an archaic ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional in a major win for LGBTQ+ rights in the country.

This is huge news and an incredible step forward. I don't know enough about the Japanese political process to speculate on the next steps forward, can anyone else offer deeper insight?
