In the Hexbear brigade server I hosted one for a few hours and played with one other person. I got sidetracked and the thought has been on my mind to do it again, maybe whenever another update comes out.

It'd be really great if someone could set up a dedicated server that's always on but idk what goes into that

I've actually hosted a dedicated server before with my brother. I was waitinging until update 42 (it's the next big update, they plan to add animals) to start a new playthrough.

Weak stomach means anything that says dangerous food type will get you sick, so it isn’t just rotten stuff. Are you washing yourself? Every time you kill a zombie your clothes and weapon get dirty, you can right click on a sink or bathtub or whatever to clean your clothes and your weapon. If the power is still on you can put your clothes in a washer and dryer

I’m not sure then, I did see you say you’re overheating. If that is happening then you’ll get the wet moodle and that might make you sick if you then get cold. But you might just be hot from the sickness.

Did you get any damage? Getting a bite is the obvious way to become a zombie, but by default scratches and lacerations have a low chance of infecting you with the zombie virus.

Project Zomboid is great fun, especially in co-op MP. Shame the campaign I had with a few comrades kinda died out. I've also been waiting for the NPC update for a while now, and it still hasn't come.

Lacerations are 25% chance to cause Z virus. Scratches less. You need to cover up more and essentially NEVER get into the scenarios that are causing you these injuries. Think of life as over if you so much as get a scratch from a zombie. That's how much you want to be avoiding that.

Turn on target highlight in the menus, it will make your close combat easier because you'll be able to judge range to zombies more confidently.

Don't open doors without a weapon ready.

Once you get the hang of it, complacency is what will get you killed 9/10 times.

Yeah, those help against regular infections, but the zombie virus is different.

the likelihood of getting the zombie virus

        Bite 100%

        Laceration 20% iirc

        Scratch 7%

If you're getting the stress moodle with it you're almost definitely being infected. You can also get sick from being around too many decaying corpses though idk if you can die from that.

If you're around too many dead bodies you'll get sick. After you clear the live ones it's best to burn the bodies, bury them, or just dump them away from whatever makeshift base you create.

Been a long time, like almost 10 years, but I remember I had a character get nauseous from wearing too much clothing? Not even sure if that's still in the game, looks like it's changed a lot.

On top of what Awoo said, you can shove or attack doors before opening them to attract most zombies. I think there is a chance that a zombie will ignore a sound, no matter how loud or close it is but it's low. Doing that will drastically reduce the chances of getting ambushed in a house. Weak stomach is great free points, it's not that.

Whenever you're able to make it like a month, tailoring is super worth. Selecting the trait that starts you with +1 gives you an inherent xp boost, 25% I think.

Right click on most pieces of clothing and the ui will popup. You'll need a thread, needle, and either cloth, denim, or leather to make a patch out of.

you can get nauseous from a lot of things, also, dont eat the berries you pick until you can be sure they're not poisonous. personally, i still have "zombification" as my leading cause of death.
