i’ve been interested in learning about them but i’m curious to see if there’s anything that discusses that topic using a marxist framework

    Kings and canibals talks about the material conditions of many native american peoples. Its not very in depth but its good for a book aimed at the general public.

    Marvin harris is not a marxist but he is a materialist. More so than many marxists. His rise of antropological theory is a very good introduction to antropology in general. He is very knolegable and acurate in his critiques.

    Hmm idk about Aztecs specifically, but there’s a great bit in Graeber’s Debt that talks about the conquistadors being like a string of a bunch of guys who were heavily in debt individually all trying to plunder for silver to feed the Chinese economy. Idk, I’m not remembering this very well. It was really interesting though
