Seems like homophobia is really reaching 2008 levels these days

Hoping that the bigots are just louder than normal though

It's gotten pretty wild. Saw a fairly well done drawing of someone's character holding the pride flag with the trans and colored triangles on the side. Got down voted to oblivion and they had to lock the comments. They have Nazi shit that doesn't get as much hate. Like you gotta respect muh free speech when it's fascist, and totally just "satire", but when BLM gets brought up the mask comes flying off.

It doesn't seem organic to me at all. I think they're getting people all fashed up to keep them from moving left as shit falls apart

I think you're right, it really does feel more ginned up than the usual bigotry I'd expect this time of year. I feel like pride month usually passes by without too much controversy or fanfare. Feels like since things are getting worse they have to redirect anger to something else. The line seems to be that corporations and elites aren't bad because they're doing terrible things that are hurting people, they're bad because they're forcing wokeness on us. That way the hogs can be satiated by removing the rainbows from twitter profiles or off the packaging of their favorite treat.

you do not, under any circumstances, gotta hand it to em (your money)

i do have to wonder who this is for, since i'm pretty sure only edgelord homos would actually have the guts to wear this in public.

Honestly the rainbow heart just makes it look pro-gay regardless of the slur. Even if one of them wore it out they'd probably only do it once because they'd get too many compliments from the wrong side of the aisle.

More like they'd only wear it once because their friends would see the rainbow and beat the shit out of them.

        self-identify as a f*g

Is that a generation thing? Cause my friends and I call ourselves and each other f*g but anyone older and especially younger seems to have real problems with it. We all came out in the mid '00s.

Maybe I've just met the wrong people, but most of the LGBT people I encounter who self-identify as the F-slur tend to be self-hating fascists and irony-poisoned chanlords.

You have met the wrong people.

e: to elaborate: nearly every word we have for ourselves has at some point been a slur, a euphemism, or a diagnosis (which is a slur that the government can use to torture you). this includes "gay," "lesbian," "transgender," and of course "queer." words that mean hate in the mouths of cis het society can mean love for ourselves and each other. Read The removeds and Their Friends Between the Revolutions.

This is one of the reasons I love this site! There's always people who read theory I haven't and know stuff I don't.

That reminds me, I still need to get around to finishing Caliban And The Witch.

It's like the Pridemonth that highlights the word demon (that one is way better than this)
