      I know you're joking but did he respond at all to the idea of a Jewish state on German lands or just to the currently existing Zionist project?

        Einstein supported the creation of a Jewish homeland in mandatory Palestine, but envisioned it as a one state solution of Jews living equally with Arabs in Palestine, not a Jewish state being created in any form.

        He did not support the idea. He thought it was a bit foolish and fully supported a Jewish migration and homeland in Palestine. But not as an independent state.
