    I love these "Ethics problems" because the answer is "I would simply not create this entirely foreseeable and preventable situation in the first place, and yes "I take a third option" is the legitimate answer to your attempt to force me to accept the status quo". Like the real ethical decision was when they built unprotected micro-streets for people to walk across in the path of two ton death wagons. That's the point where someone getting hit became inevitable.

      In defense of the status quo I'm pretty sure most countries and state already have some sort of regulation that you have to slow down for pedestrian crossings and be able to come to a complete stop and such. It's barely enforced from my experience but like, this isn't even a dilemma currently
