They literally have a synthetic alternative but it's cheaper to just keep bleeding the live animals.
Also never knew they had blue colored blood.

:expert-shapiro: Well actually calling it blood is kinda misleading since haemolymph doesn't have any blood cells or haemoglobin, so therefore it is morally okay to siphon it out of them because it's cheaper than artificial alternatives.
