Golly gee! Is this authoritarianism? Oh wait it didn't happen in Russia or China so it isn't!
bizarre that they feel like they have to cite some statute for it. Like there's no way this law would be enforced or upheld in real life, but also as a private organization, it's not like they're legally obligated to accept every application otherwise. They could have just said "we don't like commies, buzz off," but they had to blame it on the law.
Oklahoma had the largest communist party in america one btw.
I think Alabama also held that title at one point as well. I vaguely recall the Alabama party being one of the first to explicitly be non-segregated.
