    This is almost impossible without the tools though. Have you seen how the new Reddit website and app looks? If you want to keep using Reddit, curating and moderating a large community using only the Reddit official app.

    Shadow bans and algorithm stuff is done by Reddit admins and Reddit tools, not moderators. If a moderator touches that stuff they get removed (see the moderator of presidential race memes, even some Chapo trap house mods). Bots to mark users is the only thing you listed that mods are allowed to do. Even then it's controversial.

    Giving Reddit admins full control and eliminating mods is how Reddit becomes Facebook or Twitter. And I don't even like Reddit mods either. Most of them are annoying stcuk up arseholes.
