China's skyrocketing renewable energy sector has lead to them reaching the goal of less than 50% of power capacity being fossil fuels two years ahead of schedule. Solar power has increased by 33% and wind has increased by 12% in the last year.

Important caveat: this refers to peak generation, which is not often achieved in practice with weather dependent power sources like solar and wind. Actual power consumption was at 28.8% for renewables in 2020, with the current five year plan aiming for 33% by 2025. For comparison, the US is currently at 20%.

    It's funny because he's not stupid, but he also doesn't have my same brainworms. His energy is directed elsewhere. He's currently working on a plan to sell his poop. In any case, it's interesting to see what messaging on China is being taken in by someone that's not predisposed to be skeptical of China imminent collapse news.

    Also, modern China is really just a Potemkin China. Real China collapsed a long time ago and no longer exists.
