south park is responsible for helping to popularize climate change denial/ridicule, demonized homeless people and trans people, supported the worst excesses of the war on terror, and pioneered the resurgence of american antisemitism

it's responsible for some of today's worst people doing the worst things. fuck south park

They're problematic on a number of things, hit the nail on other things. Hesitated to post because of the problematic stuff. The mockery of our current system like this is pretty good, despite the body shaming. Then the whole Ozempic thing IRL is pretty bad too.

They're problematic on a number of things,

They're not problematic, since that implies that these are issues. Their racism, imperialism, fatphobia and transphobia are a core part of their shtick. They don't hit the nail on other things that much smarter and more informed people haven't already said before.

Hesitated to post because of the problematic stuff

You should have trusted your gut. That's that inner leftist who can critically analyze media using materialism talking.

The mockery of our current system like this is pretty good, despite the body shaming

"can-excuse-1 can-excuse-2" (Also lmao, a large Black woman is also constantly made fun of in this special and the joke is that shes a corpo psyop to sell body positivity by "beeg sugar" and the white women just want ozempic so they can wear midriffs)

The body shaming is part of their writing, they are incredibly wealthy cis-het white men in the entertainment industry who use an "adult animated comedy show" as a way to transmit their ideology (the ruling class) to working class people who turn on comedy central or whatever the fuck they're on and subdue them. They are the living embodiment of both-sides smuglord. Imagine they tried doing something on occupied Palestine and the Zionist genocide, they'd just say that the students love KHAMAS and that the pro-Israel people just love Jews a little too much and we should work together.

LIKE MATT STONE AND TREY PARKER ARE RICH, they literally do not deal with obesity in any meaningful way in their lives lmao.

I haven't seen the whole thing - stopped streaming services when they decided to clone TV and force ads while jacking up rates. I wish they would do something on Palestine. But the little bit country / kittle bit rock n'roll bit they did with Iraq as you pointed out both-sides probably. Points taken.

The clip was painfully accurate, but whenever Parker and Stone "hit the nail," they're doing this shit while coming from a place of weirdo Libertarianism where they're praying to Mammon for the invisible hand job of the market to get rid of all the evil Obammunism that ruined the idealist pure free market system. They're very-intelligent social Darwinist dickbags, and if you find yourself agreeing with them on anything other than whether weed should be legal or whether it's time to listen to some Primus, you probably need to take a step back and do some self-crit.

Highly doubtful lol. Like call of duty, all it did was reinforce the zeitgeist. Those things were already prevalent and normalized in American culture, and all the show did was tell you that you’re a smart good boy for being correct and shouldn’t care about anything.

I would say that South Park basically introduced casual antisemitism to children who don’t even know what a Jew is. I don’t think people like PewDiePie would’ve been comfortable being antisemitic so publicly if there weren’t a predecessor in children’s mature adult Man entertainment doing the same and getting away with it

I watched the special. On comedy, the special was really fucking unfunny. Like the running joke that Ozempic is too expensive due to the "American healthcare system" muh "big pharma" so they instead prescribe "Lizzo" which is literally the show fatshaming (with obvious racist undertones since the people who use Ozempic are all petit bourgeois white women) a Black woman rapper. One of the side effects of "Lizzo" is shitting out your ears. Yeah, real smooth.

There were no good jokes. This shit is for baby-brained liberals and chuds (or just literal children who saw an animated tv show) to watch because it's fascist propaganda in service of White America. The creators of South Park are Neo-Nazi funnymen who shit on oppressed people and are perpetual culture vultures. Don't watch South Park, and unlike Family Guy, it isn't ironically funny or dank meme material (peter-running, family-guy-death-pose us-foreign-policy ), it's just rancid.

South Park is reddit-logo's favorite show.

If you got 30 minutes, here’s a better video on basically every part of the system https://youtu.be/-wpHszfnJns
