Recently started looking into actual decent hard-left content creators, discovered BadEmpanada. I could give more detail, but I'm more interested on any critiques from those who know him or his content better.

his long videos on his main channel are pretty good, very well sourced etc.

he is a complete prick though, and is terminally online, as you can see on his second channel

He continuously attacks people on Twitter, including a friend of mine (not just BayArea415).

He picks a "casus belli" and then goes from there; some of them are just very thin or entirely non-existent.

Yeah he's a massive prick. I will still defend his main channel vids as being some of the best around on certain topics, but if he really was the one that doxxed bayarea that's way beyond just being an abrasive asshole and I probably have to stop promoting his work. Frustrating.

bayarea didn't get doxed, he posted personal info on his reddit account and then kept using that reddit account for his persona

i guess you could say steve huffan doxed him but like, fucking use alts and don't post personal info. don't walk outside naked if you don't want everyone to see your ass hair.

he shouldnt be doxed but come on, its like making a username "123MainStSanFranciscoCA" and wondering why people are finding your address

no it's not, things can be public but hidden, you're still unearthing things to expose

                            PIGPOOPBALLS

do you also doxx leftists so that they can face death threats from rightists?

you are absolving badempanada of guilt when you say that bayarea self-doxxed

Things can be public but hidden in that while the information is technically accessible to the general public, you have to make an active effort to find this information, like combing through old social media posts and putting the puzzle together.

publicizing public but not publicized information is doxxing

yeah let me just dig around all your accounts to find personally identifiable information it's not doxxing tho bcz it's already public amirite??

if i posted something identifiable about myself and then became a public figure in a way that could get me fired from my day job and kept using the same account then knock yourself out.

if i streak and people take a picture they're not spying on me.

Undoubtedly, it's the job of journalism to publicize information whether everyone consents to it or not. I just don't think it's appropriate to publicize the personal identifiable information of a good person (for the lack of a better word) with the hidden subtext of "go harass this guy", even if technically the information was already accessible by the general public. But if it's a bad person who is at the receiving end of the stick, I don't really care.

Ultimately, I'm not mad about the concept of doxxings, I'm just mad that it was BayArea who was doxxed and that it was by a fellow leftist!

I... understand. Every YouTuber I've followed over the years has been a massive prick, at least in terms of personality, or a sex pest of some sort or someone that has genuinely acted scummy to other people, never mind has held views that are anti-communist or transphobic/homophobic or anti-neurodivergent and so on and so forth.

I'm sorry that you may have gotten hyped about his content. It's why I prefer to promote newer leftist or ML YouTubers or TikTokers nowdays rather than the "old guard" of BreadTubers and ML YouTubers (FinBol, for example, turned out to be a creep and a pedo too, for example).

Anyway, I'll stop talking about this for now as bringing that person up again has gotten me worked up and brings back traumatic memories; I think I'll stop for now.

To be sure, some of his targets may "deserve it" but his argumenative nature puts him at odds with others that really do not deserve to be humiliated or belittled or harassed, as he so often does. His behavior at times, I would argue, amounts almost to cyber-stalking.
