    i convinced my parents to mow only as required by their satanic HOA and stop using fertilizer and water. just throw some native seeds out in the spring to cover up dirt patches.

    they have cute bumble bees swarming their lawn now as it is one of the few safe spaces for miles, and they even sent me pics of dragonflies and butterflies. the HOA has yet to bother them about the clover and other little flowers that have popped up, and probably dont even have the legal standing to, since there is no definition of what plants count as 'weeds' in the hoa documents.

    The place I live has the same policy and it's wonderful, if not for the fact that i'm apparently mega allergic to the grass that is natural to our area, so i wake up every day feeling like I can't breathe.
