The local news has been beating the drum about retail thefts for months, there's shit almost everyday to the point my older relatives think there's gangs of thieves hiding around every corner.
My county literally started a retail theft deterrence program in response to those bullshit stories. Old ppl scare too easy. And they like stuff more than ppl.
