    Ehh, I don’t think this means that much. A lot of people that have family ancestry that runs through the South have a slave owner or two somewhere back there on the family tree.

      I think it speaks to the dynasty that is US politics, the lines between classes that span generations. I read Nixonland a while back and most of the names that popped up were relatives of the current DC politico. Much of the roots of the DC elites go back to the same families that came over as businessmen and representatives of the British Crown rather than the slaves, indentured servants, and commoners.
