The average person does not give a fuck about any of the downsides to social media (or anything, really) unless those downsides become so disruptive and obvious they can no longer be ignored, like Twitter under Musk's tenure. They will go with the crowd and follow the path of least resistance. The best platform (if you want to compete for the average person) is the simplest. Nothing else matters.
