I came to the realization yesterday that the feeling of perceiving myself from the outside I get while high is literally just me unmasking and realizing my “true self” which I have avoided my entire life. And it’s quite miserable

What are some of the strategies they’ve used which have helped?
Well in the context of an autistic/allistic relationship they're being far more direct with me when I'm misinterpreting tone of voice or facial cues. With friends and family it's more a process of explaining their specific needs and social limits.
For the actual process of being your true self and losing the mask idk I'm just trying to be supportive
Yeahhh I’m pretty sure it‘s different for everyone but really comes down to accepting your quirks for me
