It has the lumbar support that I crave.

Absolutely do not get a gaming chair your spine depends on it. You will regret ever buying one and hold a personal vendetta against whoever suggested it. I got this office chair its colourful and very comfy, feels premium without being too premium price wise. https://amzn.eu/d/iU3dyJV

Exactly right. Go for the office market, it's cheaper, actually OK for your back, and you won't look like a streamer douche

I think I've had a very similar version of this chair for over a decade. Over the pandemic I started looking to upgrade and apparently I had accidentally already hit the best ergonomics for my price range lmao.

There's this style of mesh chair (think it's called a task chair) that's usually cheap and offers good ergonomica. Feels like every store has their own brand but they all look kind of the same, so I imagine they're literally made in the same factory but branded different. Basically what /u/Yurt_Owl sent you.

Sihoo are my favourite cos they feel incredibly premium but don't cost anywhere near as much as Herman Miller.

My old gaming chair caused me so much discomfort i ended up replacing it with a foldout chair for a while which was an improvement.

Staples Hyken is a good choice, guaranteed at that price. If you can find a used high end task chair like a Steelcase Leap or a Herman Miller Aeron around that price or a bit over, it'll last you literally the rest of time. They're made to last longer than the companies that buy them.
