It has the lumbar support that I crave.

I'm almost certain that a good office chair is better for your back than a freeze-gamer chair https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Yhc6mmdJC4

I would save for a used luxury office chair. I got a new $400 gamer chair as a gift and it ripped and broke within 3-4 years

So silly to me that good ergonomic officer chairs have to pander to G*mers now because they have the disposable income I guess.

pretty sure you have it backwards on this one. Good office chairs became comically expensive because they were sold to businesses, and gaming chairs were marketed towards consumers so the price of a comparable gaming chair is ~20%. At least, this was my experience when upgrading my home setup during quarantine.

If you're in the US, this chair is worth it for sure. Not really worth it here in Canada, $350 CAD is too steep, unless you buy it in the states.

The actual best option, better than the Hyken, is to try and get a used high end task chair like a Steelcase Leap or Herman Miller Aeron from an office cheaply. If you can find them for under $250 USD, they're the best deal on wheels. Occasionally you can find them under $200 when local offices are getting new stuff or are shutting down.

Absolutely do not get a gaming chair your spine depends on it. You will regret ever buying one and hold a personal vendetta against whoever suggested it. I got this office chair its colourful and very comfy, feels premium without being too premium price wise. https://amzn.eu/d/iU3dyJV

Exactly right. Go for the office market, it's cheaper, actually OK for your back, and you won't look like a streamer douche

I think I've had a very similar version of this chair for over a decade. Over the pandemic I started looking to upgrade and apparently I had accidentally already hit the best ergonomics for my price range lmao.

There's this style of mesh chair (think it's called a task chair) that's usually cheap and offers good ergonomica. Feels like every store has their own brand but they all look kind of the same, so I imagine they're literally made in the same factory but branded different. Basically what /u/Yurt_Owl sent you.

Sihoo are my favourite cos they feel incredibly premium but don't cost anywhere near as much as Herman Miller.

My old gaming chair caused me so much discomfort i ended up replacing it with a foldout chair for a while which was an improvement.

Staples Hyken is a good choice, guaranteed at that price. If you can find a used high end task chair like a Steelcase Leap or a Herman Miller Aeron around that price or a bit over, it'll last you literally the rest of time. They're made to last longer than the companies that buy them.
