man risked it (and lost it) all for a secret 2nd wife marriage registration, the things people will do for a piece of paper

(He was already scared of the embassey, but someone working there called him and told him they were cool now and he trusted it enough to go in)

This also worked on a bunch of Russian Fash after the Russian Civil War/WWII.

Sometimes you knock over a drink, sometimes you get a little heated and say things you don't mean, and sometimes you hijack a plane and fly it into a skyscraper, y'know? Shit happens.

saudi arabia's investments in golfing are paying off, a completely unpredictable result of throwing a bunch of money at professional athletes

Specifically, throwing money at athletes whose sport consists of being rich already

of all the crimes of the British empire they were a party to. to think that golf may have some of the worst human consequences of anything scotland did

No Yakubian sports fan has any right to complain about athletes/leagues/promotions working in places like Saudi Arabia. I always find it so annoying when pro wrestling fans complain about WWE running shows in Saudi Arabia, as if most of its shows aren't run in America. And I'm not even a big WWE fan!

Nobody in the West actually gives a shit about SAs human rights abuse

All virtue signaling as it's the socially acceptable opinion and makes them feel morally superior about their own Haram country

When saudis don’t give us oil: “remember that time when they hacked a journalist into pieces?”

When saudis give us oil: “we need to stand with them if we want to protect democracy in Asia”

Saudi recently agreed to sell oil to China in Yuan, so watch this space. I think Uncle Sam may soon become very concerned about human rights in Saudi Arabia.

It is. But it’s an unspoken rule. Like how everyone knows you don’t let your daughter around Uncle Jeremy at the family gatherings but no one wants to say it to cause drama since he’s very rich.

aren't they paying these guys like in the like 8-9 figures range of USD? i just looked it up, Greg Norman's deal is for $266 million dollars personally + control over like $2bn in assets as CEO of the KSA golfy golf corporation.

such insane amounts of money. i don't even know what i personally would want to do with 200 mil that i couldn't do with 20 mil.... besides like a give a bunch away as quick as possible. and not in the "start a foundation" philanthropy sense. more like the cut $500,000-$1mil checks to a bunch of little orgs and actually get rid of the money.

DeChambeau's entire brand is kinda being a dumb guy so expected from him, Norman makes me think this is actually gonna be the PGA line? Hilariously incompetent if so.

I want a PGA commercial where all the current players and former MVPs just solemnly swing their club and look at the camera and say “I forgive you” individually
