I dunno comrade, I still think that having sex with animals in video games is weird. Like, obviously, in terms of 'harm', real life animal abuse is infinitely worse than any fictional depiction of anything, and we should focus our efforts on ending actual harm.
And yeah, if the animal was actually a shapeshifted human that could consent, than fucking the bear wouldn't actually be immoral.
But it strikes me as the same argument people use to justify making porn of lolis, 'because they're actually a 1000 year old vampire'. Like, druids aren't real (in the DnD sense I mean). Its clearly just a route for titillating people who want to fuck animals.
But as much as I do think its bad, to have the animal fucking video game be a thing, you are right that the stakes are so very low for video game opinions. And they knew adding bear fucking would snatch headlines and get people discoursing about it for free publicity; why else would they have cut it the way the did to show it at a conference?
i feel like this post might be a troll bc I can’t parse it. People shouldn’t fuck animals irl or otherwise. Strange post.
Baldur's Gate 3 is a massive game, that generates a lot of press. People are going to draw depraved porn for themselves and jerk off to it, but there's a huge difference between weird edge porn, and a popular media.
It'd be bad if BG3 had a 'loli' vampire you could fuck too. And, 'Zoophiles' (who are a separate group from furries), are constantly trying to push for 'acceptance', and popular media depictions are an easy way for them to point and say 'look how many people want this!' People definitely do that with anime and anime games with lolis, to try to justify it. Looking at you, Fire Emblem.
Because, bestiality is a crime that happens.
Like, yeah, this is the Vegan forum, so we all know that there is also a ton of animal sexual abuse implicit to animal agriculture, which is bad and should be stopped.
But also, people do in fact buy dogs to fuck, and want to push for that to be normalized. And beyond the 'bear fucking' being gross or not, it just kinda strikes me as irresponsible of Larian.
