Erich Mühsam, murdered by Nazis on this day in 1934, was a Jewish anarchist author who openly condemned Nazism and satirized Hitler before being arrested by the Nazi regime in 1933.
In 1911, Mühsam founded the newspaper, "Kain" as a forum for anarcho-communist politics, stating that it would "be a personal organ for whatever the editor, as a poet, as a citizen of the world, and as a fellow man had on his mind." The paper opposed capital punishment and government censorship of theater.
After World War I, Mühsam was sentenced to fifteen years in prison for playing a leading role in the Bavarian Revolution. He was freed as part of the same general amnesty for political prisoners under the Weimar Republic that released Adolf Hitler.
As a cabaret performer and writer during this time, he achieved international prominence, promoting works which condemned Nazism and personally satirized Adolf Hitler.
In 1933, Mühsam was arrested, with propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels labeling him as one of "those Jewish subversives."
While imprisoned, he was brutally tortured, however his spirit remained unbroken. When his captors tried to force him to sing the "Horst-Wessel-Lied" (the Nazi's anthem), Mühsam sung The Internationale, instead.
According to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, Mühsam was murdered in the Oranienburg concentration camp on July 11th, 1934.

My parents have gone insane tbh. I came to this conclusion after they invited me to watch a movie in theaters randomly. It was the Sound of Freedom lmao.
They were so convinced that if they mentioned Jim Caviezal that I would be like DUDE HELL YEA!!! I looked him up and found QAnon rants and shit lmao. Yea, Mom, I really was very interested in seeing what Jesus from Passion of the Christ was up to.
I've talked to them extensively, with love and care, about the terrifying and endless horror that this topic actually is. They don't care and ignore everything I say about it. I'm a SA survivor, they know this. Yet, I've been told I don't care about children being hurt. I was a kid when I was hurt :/
Honestly, I wanna cry every time they think they are being slick with their game. They don't treat any of it seriously. It's just a game where they can maintain their impotent rage just right so that they can avoid self-reflection. I've let my heart nearly burst open trying to convince them to stop being this way.
So much audacity on display.
idk what more to say its just painful

I'm doing okay in spite of things dw! I'm about to make some big life changes and they won't be around for it.
QAnon shit in particular horrifies me because I was there when it started and I bought into it. I was in so much pain from life itself that I latched onto something, anything, to make me feel alive. I needed rage to feel something.
Pizzagate/QAnon/ Right Wing Conspiracies are rage converters. They take a very real and very serious passion and run it through the ringer until only hate is left. After you've had your fill of rage, there is a neat little coffee mug you can buy for tomorrow's continued reading. Fill that shit back up, patriot!!
I've been meaning to write a little essay about this time period and how it affected me but I don't get nearly high enough for that lmao

Idk if you'd find it triggering but the QAnon Anonymous episode "Enter the Cavortex" is their best one. Absolutely hilarious, I don't remember every second but I think it's pretty light on SA-related stuff besides mentioning some creepy incidents Jim did in passing.
