      Covid can be found in your feces if you have an active infection, so for the past few years wastewater has been tested on site for covid. Think of it like they're sticking a test strip into sewage at a water treatment plant (I don't know how they actually do it, its just a way to visualize). That's one of the few ways left we have to track the prevalence of covid. Currently, sampling of wastewater indicates that the number of active infections is going up.

        I assume they use the same machine they used to make Honey I Shrunk the Kids to make their interns very, very small, then send them in to the poop to do a hand count.
