Any info on these miners and rebels? I hardly ever hear about what's going on in Africa. Do the rebels have legit grievances? Is the West funding anyone? Is China cringe in this situation? What's the dealio?
The United States has long supported economic growth, the rule of law, and political stability in CAR, and it remains concerned about the high levels of violence and worsening humanitarian crisis.
The African Engagement (in contrast to the Euroasian one) is going on for quite a while already. It isn't a change caused by the coup-petit. The question in regards to weapons and equipment is new to me, but that would be quite interesting.
I think they had the option to join the Belarussian army, the russian army or go home. Option 3 is probably the worst as if they don't want to face prosecution they need to stay in a military unit.
People who worked for him who "mutinied" have to either sign up with the Russian armed forces or move to Belarus with him. Not clear if people who worked for him and may not have participated have only those 2 options or if they can just walk away and do something else.
So the Wagner mercs are still being folded into the Russian army proper, right? He no longer has anyone with a gun working for him?

I think Putin mentioned just going home as a third option.
