planet’s going to be fine, though. i find peace in that. eventually all of human history will be nothing but one aberrant little blip. just a freaky little cancer that ate itself real quick.

I hate this shit, we're going to take out most if not all advanced life with us.

People tell themselves it will just be humans but we are starting to see that no it is going to be a Venus greenhouse situation at the rate we are going. Especially with governments like that of the US looking into solar engineering to artificially cool the climate while they continue to approve increased fossil fuel drilling. A suicidal plan because all solar engineering requires never ending maintenance and if the sulfur dioxide or white paint ever stops being produced at global economy scale then suddenly all that global warming that has been artificially hidden comes crashing back with a vengeance. The liberal mind like to believe economies continue growing forever and human civilization doesn't periodically collapse to various extents, that global industrial scale solar engineering material production won't have to cease at some point due to economic or political reasons.

Everyone ignored how the ocean factored into various tipping points and how once the domino start to fall earth ends up with the carbon cycle just stopping due to dead acidic oceans. We are already seeing regions of the ocean and inland seas turning into dead zones. Then there is the fact that evaporated water is one of the stronger green house gases and once that final domino tips earth ends up permanently locked in as another Venus.

Venus used to be atmospherically like earth but now has surface temperatures peaking at 900 degrees due to runaway green house gas. We are talking not humans or even animals gone but all life, including single celled, forever.
