My mom says she didn't teach us her parents' language because some pediatrician told her it's too "complicated and overwhelming" for small kids to learn two languages at once, and with my brother having autism, he literally told her "you'd be confusing him especially"
Goddamn that has to be some racism or inferiority complex from that pediatrician cause I'm pretty sure it's somewhat well known even amongst non-doctors that learning more than one language is really good for the development of childrens' brain
