also on my linux desktop I have problems with my audio drivers not kicking in until a video has already been playing for 1 second, whereas I imagine mobile users maybe don't have that problem? I always appreciate the pause at the start of a video as well because it gives you a moment to get settled after you hit play. Never imagined it was a generational thing.
You're supposed to make sure you're recording before you start talking but generally you edit that part out.

Oh my god I just noticed that on my steam deck, I looked up a youtube video in firefox to, you know,
figure out how to install the dependency of a dependency of a dependency of a dependency of a dependency of a dependency of a program I wanted to run
and for each konsole command I'd have to pause and play it, but it did this weird fade-in every time, took several seconds to get past the murmur.
