if i were gonna make an The Expanse game, I think it would be about all the little maintenance tasks that go into living on a ship. Triple checking the air filters, sorta deal. Also, I'd try and distance the visuals as far from the TV show as possible. Like, I always got the sense that there was no plastic materials in the book. It's never outright stated, but ceramics get brought up so much, I just kinda head-cannoned that it took place in a future where humanity stopped using petroleum products.

Actually that's probably canon. I think based on consumption levels and known reserves the world was estimated to run out of oil by like 2060 when the book came out.

      that would be really cool

I also really liked the realistic space dogfighting moments in the novels, and I think these would make for a really cool board game

Is that company any less shitty than it was before about mistreating its workers and forcing them into even-worse-than-industrial-norm "grind" sessions that last months and often require therapy and other psychiatric services?

shit, really? that's disappointing, I have great memories of their games, never read up on their practices

I suppose it's a safe bet that the games industry will be shit

I brought it up because Telltale was being shittier than the already shitty industrial average.

It's a new company operating under the same name, with a lot of the same employees

Meh, The Expanse universe is definitely not appealing enough to me to ever desire to set foot in it at least the show was basicaly the same capitalism realism shit we live in today why bother with more misery but fictional this time!

Even though I absolutely loved the show(the first 2-3 seasons specialy), its funny they went for this and not Trek/SW. Obviously both of those are universes everyone would love to participate in, with a rich fan fiction history etc.

Heck funny they even went for this and not the Battlestar Galactica remake, they could easily have done a Pegasus show or something. Yes I know recency bias BSG is a dead franchise again by now but I'd still take that.

I'll be honest, I lost complete interest in this franchise when I realized the hardened space PI wasn't the main character and the alien stuff went to the back burners.

the whole series started as a homebrew tabletop rpg that got way out of hand. that means someone played miller solo for an entire campaign while the rossi crew never interacted with him. imagine showing up for an entire dnd game and you never meet the other pc's, thats gotta be so boring.

I don't know how I feel about that, the latest Telltales releases were pretty meh and I wonder how much of the original team is left in there
