It's hard to feel bad for people like Pence because they supported Trump the entire time, they knew what they were getting into, they were always aware that these weirdos were the main supporters of Trump. And that's besides their questionable past anyhow, which Pence has

We live in such weird times. Never thought I'd live to see the day when it was controversial on the internet to tell nazis to go do a backflip off a bridge. Always used to be SOP for any website, but even reddit constantly banned people for telling racists and bigots to go fly a kite off a cliff with their bs "be civil" rule that only protected the bigots in the end

Pence is less of a human being and more an avatar of pure cynicism. Everything he says is calculated conservative fluff. He has no beliefs and he has no convictions. He exists purely as a human vessel for reactionary evangelicals to spread themselves.

He was only appointed the vice-president because republican leadership was afraid Trump would be alienating to elderly rich evangelicals who own things like all the aluminum in the state of Nebraska. Trump's vice president instead of Pence could have been a cardboard cutout with a sign reading, "Don't worry, Trump's annoying but he'll be a normal republican"

Average politician in a liberal democracy
