but why don't you or another person upset with rule 8 just request a comm

If I remember correctly, when this issue has come up before, which it has several times, mods said that no comm requests for rule 8 posts would be granted. I even suggested a weekly megathread where people could post and talk about all the low-hanging fruit they wanted, but it would be contained to a single, easily-ignored if chosen, thread. But no one seemed to like that idea.
