Obviously Bernie is not a revolutionary, nor a proper socialist. However, that is not the question I am asking. Rather, given his long and consistent record as a social-democratic reformist, is Bernie merely misguided or is he an active betrayer of the worker's cause?

He seeks to improve the material conditions of imperial core workers

Take from that what you will

Bernie is an imperialist and a colonizer who loves the police, so yes.

He seems to have made a real effort to improve life for working people for longer than most of us have been alive. In his earlier years he sought peace with the USSR and his bad geopolitical takes only came much much later. He also got fucked pretty hard by the Democrats and there is a tinfoil hat wearing part of me that wonders if they threatened him or his family if he didn't try to reel people back from radicalism and lose "gracefully" to Brandon in the end. We may never know the truth but he is really old and if you ask me he is allowed to be retired.
