    I was told that the news megathread was intended to protect the sharing of smaller news stories that the hexbear algorithm normally crush. Mods even said that chatter in the news mega thread was supposed to end.

    Now a big news story happens and the whole front page has threads that people can talk in about it, but also people are flooding the mega thread which is intended to preserve visibility of less visible stories. That does not make sense. How is anyone supposed to see other news stories from today? (or the last 5 days)

    Converting the weekly new megathread into another "trump got shot" thread killed the visibility of every lesser news story of the past 5 days.
