I so badly want Trump to come out on stage in a wheelchair with a neck brace and and eye patch and an arm in a cast. LOOK WHAT THE LEFT DID TO ME!
And then he steals a page from Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka. He shakily stands up from his wheelchair and hobbles a few steps. Then in his strong and powerful way - he takes off his eye patch. The conventioneers start yelling and screaming. He takes off his neck brace. The sounds gets louder and more rabid. He shakes off his cast. People are now screaming uncontrolably. Some are crying. Some are rending their garments. Some are not just speaking in tongues but wildly screaming in tongues.
The chanting starts - "Trump! Trump! Trump!..."
"Yeah. I feel good. I feel...—"
"Trump! Trump! Trump!..." He's their god king but this is their moment. Trump starts smiling. They chant his name in a way that hasn't been done for millenia when people thought Gods walked the earth. And they carry on for five solid minutes. The paramedics are busy. Many people have hurt themselves in a religious-like fervor of self-flagellation. Some people passed out. There were at least two heart attacks. The chanting finally dies down.
"Good crowd," Trump says.
