Teacher's are also constantly failing their students.

With this climate and culture you have to teach students to critically understand the world and why it's falling apart. "Education is path forward to a better life" is answered by the very real circumstances of their older siblings and friends getting crushed by school debt only to work the same shitty dead end job they did in highschool.

Many of them teach and act like the American dream is still a thing, like students just have to work hard like they did to succeed, but that just isn't the case. This salesmanship of a story and idea that is long past it's expiration date increases student apathy even more. I think this will only increase as America continues to fall apart.

Are they? I was under the impression schools push teachers to pass everyone because it makes the school look good and the admin’s salaries high. K-12 i mean.

Thats exactly how teachers are failing students. By not teaching. They arent giving failing grades. They are failing to educate.

This is pretty one dimensional thinking and pretends schools are just teachers making autonomous decisions

I mean teachers are latgely prevented from actually useful tools. Many try their best despite the system theyre in. My comment was just clarifying to Gosling that in this situation 'fail' was more about not reaching a goal rather tha 'giving a bad grade'
