Saying the world isn't ending due to climate change is irresponsible. The world as we know it is being destroyed, and that's obviously what people mean by the turn of phrase.

That doesn't mean the only conclusion is doomerism. There are lots of solutions but they kind of require you (yes you). to get out and organize not just watch sophist steamers.

I think a lot of people are hearing "the world is ending" and they are giving up. Even people on this very site who know better, so probably lots of normies as well.

But perhaps more relevant: given the post times and video length... Neither of us have watched this video through, so if you want to shit on it maybe give it a fair shot first. Or ignore it, that's fine, just don't shit on it without any investigation

I agree, but you didn’t watch the video and are just reacting to the title, so not really relevant. If you have critiques of her “sophistry” I’m down, I think her language is vague and unmaterialist, but your critique is literally a non-sequitur. “Get out and organize” is literally the primary message

Looking good, I'm very here for Sophie's Leninist-Shroomist climate radical turn

I'm like twenty minutes in but she's already been talking about the inadequacies of liberal climate discourse, empire, and the petro-dollar. "climate warming cannot be stopped without ending global imperialist capitalism"
And there's shrooms later on, I've been peeking

I had to interrupt at about the halfway mark yesterday, I'll probably end up finishing it today. I'll shoot you a comment in here if I end up having any interesting thoughts
