    All they hear is tone, the meaning doesn’t matter.

    (Which probably isn’t actually true of dogs, but it’s an easy shorthand.)

        You can tell a golden retriever “I hate you so much you’re such a dumb piece of shit” but in like a friendly, sing-songy tone and it’s the same to them as if you are saying “good boy, I love you”.

        The joke is that libs are like that, as a politician your policy can be “fuck you stupid assholes, we don’t care about you” but if the tone is right lib voters will eat it up.

        They can learn a small number of words and will be confused by even those if you say them in an different tone than the usual context the commands are given.

          I mean yeah, because they go by sounds moreso than words. For humans tone can also change the meaning of words as well. I feel as confused as that dog looks.
