So a few days later, and I believe they are now at over 300k. $300,000 for the establishment imperialist politician because they want to bring her to mastodon. Okay. Walk with me here for a minute.
I'm going to make one thing clear to y'all. Many of my users are poor and housing insecure because of white supremacy and transmisia. Black trans folks experience incomparable levels of housing and employment discrimination because of those and other systems under capitalism. ALL of us have seen Black trans fundraisers get barely any attention and even less funding when they are desperate to meet basic necessities for life which leads them to make mutual aid posts. But, you know, times are hard, everyone's got their own priorities, so it's not that surprising. We're used to being low on the priority list and we ain't fucking pocket watchers. So whatever, we'll keep it pushing. THEN.
One day, y'all get real excited and decide to put your money where your mouth is and you show us exactly where your attention, your donations, and your fucking care is going, as well as where it ISN'T going. What an unprecedented amount of money! Wow!
So some of us, STILL struggling to make ends meet so we can continue to fucking LIVE, decide to be strategic. Since ALL the money seems to be going towards your fuckass hashtag, we try showing up there hoping that someone will demonstrate some god damn compassion and human decency. And what do we get? Y'all send me a fucking report that we're "begging for money" and talk about how we're "harassing the hashtag".
