I understand your sentiment, and I've felt the same way at times, but something about learning there were only like three (3, in the whole nation) conscientious objectors to the IDF who were jailed for refusal to serve, and that the majority of israelis feel that the IDF isn't going far enough in Gaza, made me just fundamentally not give a fuck about what happens to most israelis, including the civilians there.
I have never encountered such a fundamentally unsympathetic people. You probably haven't either, and it's probably throwing you off like it did me.
