Are Rise Against considered a protest band these days? I love them musically, but thought the fact they went corporate with the major labels years ago would put people off here.
I mean they're as left as you'll get amongst more mainstream bands, sampling the Internationale in their latest songs and all. It's a good intro to more political music.

They radicalized so many people on antiwar and environmental issues that I kinda just ignore their more recent behavior.
Plus they have a lot of top tier bangers.
