Why the fuck does every food item have an "air puffed" version now that is also more expensive. THEY'RE CHARGING FOR AIR. They're literally selling air. It's so infuriating. Brings a whole new definition to "inflation."
I won't lie lots of food tastes better air puffed but also it should cost less. It's less food. I hate capitalism
I think I missed this trend. What are they puffing?
Everything! Rice! Crackers! Ice cream! Peas! Fucking everything is being dried and puffed full of air and sold at a higher price for less weight because then they can sell you air.
Wha, ice cream?
Also puffed rice is old-school and should be incredibly cheap. I assume it is way marked up to be trendy?
anecdotal evidence, but every time I've gotten ice cream from a grocery store recently it's a very very light and airy, an almost foamy texture, with lots of tiny bubbles in it, as opposed to when I go to a shop that makes their ice cream in-house.
Whipped ice cream is great because it's got a nice light texture, but. IT'S FILLED WITH AIR. WHY IS IT MORE EXPENSIVE
