In this week's chapter some pigs (bad kind) are sad.

What did you think of this week's chapter?

That kizaru panel was something. Jesus.

Off to elbaf I guess. Lets go. Egghead has been an absolutely solid arc.

Pretty quiet chapter for once. Seems like all the other Vegapunks are downloaded to Lilith's brain or something?

This entire arc has been pointing at Vegapunk not just being a person but also a huge wealth of knowledge and scientific progress. While Imu and his elders represent the bourgeois state (all of Imu's elders are "gods" of different stately departments like finance and the environment), Vegapunk's satellites are all diverse and independent enough to carry on Vegapunk's life work for him. In short, they're human in a way that the elders and Imu are simultaneously inhuman. The strawhats have a Vegapunk while the WG also has a Vegapunk, so all is not lost in terms of who can inherit Egghead island and use Vegapunk's scientific research to preserve the world (or destroy it in Imu's case). That's the "perspective" that Lilith was referring to.

When you view Egghead as a juxtaposition of Vegapunk's scientific socialism and Imu's decadent bourgeois state it makes the arc that much richer.

Saturn is still on the island may be him and york will still find a way to destroy stuff.

I woul say punk is more of a long line of collaborators with the ruling class. The story already has its nazi scientists like ceasar or judge. Punk is also a useful idiot for the empire, whose biggest contribution was him whistelblowing the best kept secret that they genocided ohara for almost leaking.

I would say it adds in these different themes. But I won't say it has those as a central theme for the characters really. They are kind of removed from the themes itself. Like there can be themes on anti imperialism but the characters don't really have much thematic placement. They are rather in midst of some rupture.

Some are more clear cut like the rev army or even the navy freaks. Strawhats themselves don't really build from the themes apart from their quest.

I can't wait to be accidentally spoiled by some random trending phrase when they find the One Piece

If I was a Navy admiral, I would simply not kill my best friend. What, is he stupid?

One thing I'm now hyped for his Oda's imagination when designing Elbaf. He's already given us a taste with the perspective twist on the giant ship with the strawhats but I wonder how the rest of Elbaf will be designed.

I'm going to call it and say we are not going to be seeing Shanks on Elbaf and that the silhouetted figure is a bait and switch. I'm really excited for post-arc egghead when we return to all the other characters like Buggy, Blackbeard, Sabo etc.

Yeah probably not. Or maybe we'll get a god valley tie in with the garp stuff. Maybe shanks can tie in there I guess.

Post egghead is going to feel very gloomy. Lets see how much more ramping up there can be.
