Might be different where you live but appointments are a week out which I assume means everyone's trying to squeeze them in while they can. They're discontinuing the program to keep the poors alive at the end of August.

Yeah I'm aware, just figure something's better than nothing and I know some people here struggle to put food on the table and ponying up cash for a Covid booster might be a tall order.

CDC’s Bridge Access Program provides free COVID-19 vaccines to adults without health insurance and adults whose insurance does not cover all COVID-19 vaccine costs. This program will end in August 2024.
The place I got my last covid shot didn't even know this program existed. Well done America
