One of my best friends in high school was the whole package to me: smart, funny, strong, kind but also not afraid to roast me or anyone else when needed, and interesting. I ended up having a big crush on her and with hindsight I can now see that the feeling was mutual. I was gonna tell her and ask her out one day walking back to school from a coffee shop and I chickened out and told her I had a crush on SOMEONE ELSE. We never dated and are no longer in touch.
She was second in a long line of potentially wonderful relationships that never happened cause I wasn't honest and open about my feelings.
