oh cool so if i can ever get surgery it might not even help

that sucks though, I'm really sorry :/ I have to shift around in the night or else my back ends up hurting... like pressure builds up in weird spots on my spine until I get it just right. if I HAD to lay on my left side I would be so screwed so many nights when it ends up feeling painful

im sorry to hear that! it's the worst not getting any good sleep. from what i understand that surgery is usually quite helpful.. i knew a couple of guys that got it and it changed their lives which is why i did it too

it's fine, I'm doing okay for now for the most part. I had long stretches where my ability to sleep was just so fucked. like I'd just lay there and just curse my existence and on a few occasions get up and go scream in frustration somewhere else, but it's been much better after getting a new mattress, lmao

has a doctor ever explained to you why the surgery didn't work in your case? like was it improperly done, and maybe something that could still be fixed? it seems really specific to have to sleep on one side, and like something that would still have an obvious underlying cause? idk

im glad to hear you're doing alright. I've wondered whether one of those purple mattresses would be worth their cost. A couple people I worked with got one and they never shut up about how amazing it is.

For my surgery, I had the surgery when I had a job and shortly thereafter I did not have a job anymore, in part because I missed 4 days instead of the 3 days they allotted for my recovery. I had one meeting with the dr after the surgery about a week and a half afterward but it was too early for him to tell whether it would fix me, and to be honest he was WAY more concerned that I had no sense of taste and smell because that wasn't supposed to happen. I'm sure he was shidding himself thinking I was going to sue, but my senses came back after about another week or so. Looking back though I'm sure he would've recommended another procedure but alas it wasn't meant to be.
