It's a bullpup, it's definitely shorter overall with the muzzle closer to the shooter - looks like the pistol grip is about halfway down the barrel, whereas on an M4 the barrel begins well forward of the grip. M4-length barrels underneath a covered shooting bench are raucous and make everybody else on the shooting line stop what they're doing and crane their necks out to see who's shooting the asshole cannon (it's me)
Sure, but my point was just that this shouldn't really be any worse than the vast majority of modern assault rifles, which have similar barrel lengths (in fact, the new QBZ-191 rifle that's replacing the 95 has exactly a 14.5″ barrel in its standard configuration). If you're shooting with the muzzle close to a wall (or a bench as in your example) it's not going to be nice, but you'll have the same problem with most other modern rifles.

It's still going to be noticeably worse because the blast is physically closer to your body
Ehh, I have a 10.5 inch AR with a blast can. It's not too bad for ME but I haven't had anyone else fire it while I'm around.
