this is inaccurate, dog food is more nutritious for dogs than cereal is for humans. the closest human equivalent of dog food is probably textured vegetable protein.
I had soy curls for the first time a few weeks ago and it was awesome. It's out of my price range for food rn so I will stick with TVP for spaghetti and tacos lol.
I...never realised that was a product. Is it just like a big blob of ravioli stuck together or are they in some kind of premade sauce too?
Cooking is my main way to destress after work, I love to make pasta especially, so I might pass. But hey, if someone doesn't have the time and wants a quick snack, no judgements. Though the official website of the product having a 2/5 review score is pretty yikes.
I just didn't know they existed, but I suppose everything that can be premade has been by now.
I usually go for the already seasoned red beans and rice or chili... But I might get some beefaroni next time I get groceries
That’s what the milk is for you dry cereal eating psychopaths.
Dry cereal? Dog food. Wet Cereal? Human food.
Some people add water (or goat milk or broth) to the kibble for extra hydration
Is dog food high in sugar and marketed towards puppies with colorful characters? Probably idk, I'm not a human food expert or a dog food expert, someone drop a smart 🤓 comment in here with articles and sources on hybrid fruits
I’ve actually seen some dog food that is multicoloured with the kibbles made into “fun” little shapes, not that dogs care about that.
Kibble is supposed to be designed to have all of a dogs nutritional needs met so I don’t know why they’d bother making the food look a certain way.
Fine I'll add to the discourse. Not all cereals are as sugary as people are saying. Cheerios only have a couple grams of sugar per serving, and you're probably eating two servings or less. Only issue with the comparison is you don't suspend dog food in a liquid like you do with cereal. And you need that (soy) milk for protein.
Agreed, but as somebody who makes a conscious rule to only buys cereals with <6g of sugar per 30g (a pretty easy-to-clear bar), I have to rule out about 80% of breakfast cereals that my stores stock.
breakfast cereals are just dessert for breakfast, but regular 'cereals' like whole grain oats are great and tbh i don't see many dogs eating cereals
I've genuinely jaw-dropped at the amount of sugar in American cereals. Some of them are literally just candy (isn't there like a Reese's Puffs cereal or something???).
Any of porridge, bran, fruit wheats, and just actual fruit makes a tasty and human food breakfast.
Yes. I ate Reese's puffs exclusively from like age 9-11. I'm amazed I turned out all right lol
There's an Oreo one too, I also remember Cookie Crisp from when I was a kid.
Even as a kid I liked my bran cereals or oatmeal. The sweetest thing I could tolerate was raisin bran.
I’d kill for some cereal rn, my broke ass only has sauces in the pantry
The cereal breakfast is just there becuase of the american capitalist propaganda machine is so strong , I remember reading multiple times that corn flakes were created by kellogs to get libidos of people down, except cereals are high in carb and sugars , which increase obesity unless that is being burnt actively , which most middle class/ working class people cant !
