Just something I was kinda curious about for collection / novelty reasons and I'm not sure where I would start. I know there's not really a practical reason for it, but I think it would be kinda neat to have a DPRK-made pistol or something. Something I can be quite sure no one else I meet will have, ya know?
Unless someone has war booty from the Korea-American war in the 50s I don't think it's possible.
Yeah, that makes sense. My next thought was "I wonder how rich I'd have to be to go buy one directly from the source" and then I remembered that I'd have to start by being rich enough to get a different country's passport cause I can't go straight from America lmao
Idk what kind of illegal importing a firearm from the dprk to the us is but it's gonna be one of the big ones.
In the case of weapons and “state sponsors of terror”, it’s quite a lot of money
you can via the chinese tour companies if those have started up again. when the blinking white guy went years ago he said NK just didn't stamp his passport.
ooooh. this... changes things. ive only seen one tour company that has info in the only language i know (i know i know, i need to get to work) and they explicitly won't bring americans anymore, so i kinda thought it just couldn't be done with an american passport. but now that i think about it it's kind of obvious that there'd be more options im not aware of.
for the record im still definitely never gonna be rich enough to safely smuggle north korean guns to america, but i very well might try to visit
ah maybe they stopped taking seppos after that one asswipe
I bet you could get something in Russia if you have the money. I'm pretty sure they buy guns from DPRK?
Anyway, sometimes stuff shows up in auctions in the US: https://www.rockislandauction.com/detail/79/544/north-korean-type-58-fully-transferrable-machine-gun
