I do this with my dog but because I'm not a freak we just share human food while I cook. fruit & veggie trimmings, meat scraps, etc. no product required.
I'd be cleaning off my carrots with a peeler and instead of throwing them in the trash if just have my dog come over and have him gobble up all the trimmings. He was an absolute veggie fiend

our absolutely goes crazy for red bell peppers! also likes food with spicy sauce on it but we don't let her have that deliberately
dogs do have some varied palates
